Last year only Crosby, Brule and Syvret played games in the NHL. In 2003-2004, there was Fleury, Stall, Horton, Zherdev, Michalek, Brown, Brent Burns, Fritsche, Bergeron, and Esa Pirnes. Who do you think we will see making the team this year from the 2006 draft? Backstrom? Kessel? Staal?

Backstrom opted to stay in Sweden this year

Kessel I would think has an outside shot at makin the big club... Staal HAD a slim shot with it looking like Malkin would not be coming, but that idea has to be completely shot down unless he blows people away at camp. Some overagers like Kulemin may be there as well, among others.

Drumheller, AB
1-STL EJ (Committed to NCAA)
2-PIT Staal (Suprise pick at #2, not NHL Ready)
3-CHI Toews (If he makes Chicago I won't be suprised)
4-WAS Backstrom (I liked him making the Caps, but he opted to stay overseas)
5-BOS Kessel (Not suprised he fell, but I can see him suiting up with the B's)
6-CLB Brassard (I can see him making a run at the Columbus roster)
7-NYI Okposo (I think he needs a year or two till he's ready)
8-PHX Mueller (Skating needs work, but he's got the rest of the tools)
9-MIN Sheppard (Give him another year)
10-FLA Frolik (Didn't get a good read on this guy)
....I don't think anyone else is NHL ready.
