2006 Draft seems to be a light weight year

it wasn't so much a highjack...i'm not even a canes fan...

I just don't get why ovechkin, crosby, and malkin are considered the once in a decade talents...

cuz hype??

cuz you could add a player or two over those guys or righ in there with them.

No doubt Staal is having a helluva year.

I think what the posters are referring to is the hype in their draft year. By no means was Staal hyped and groomed as a 'once-in-a-decade' talent.

He may soon develop into something like that, but at the time of the draft, he wasn't.
