that iceland team is a bunch of thugs. they have that guy who used to be in the NHL that would have made Claude Lemieux blush for coach. Look for D Gunner Stahl to make a strong showing.

I don't think Belgium will be able to do much in this group.

Holland will trash us as well as Ice Hockey is just on a higher level there....

But at hey, we still have Cyclo-Cross :D

From the IIHF:

"Hi,

there seems to be some problems in Poland, and we have lost the access to the tournament organisers. However, we are working all the time to fix the problems and the updates should follow soon."

I will not be updating this tournament until the IIHF fixes their network problems.

The IIHF seems to be showing some of the scores now... Just the scores, though, no stats or scoresheets.

I don't expect there to be extensive live coverage. Scores should be about all we will get live with most of the IIHF staff being in Finland this week. I expect statistics to be posted following the conclusion of these games, permitting all the network problems are solved.

I will update scores as they are updated at IIHF.com

Netherlands beating Iceland 5-1 in period one.
They're also really slow. That game ended a while ago (NED 12-1 ISL). Romania also beat Belgium 7-4. Belgium, somewhat suprisingly, was tied with the Romanians going into the third period.

The Belgian, Dutch and Polish Hockey Federations (particularly the Belgians) are currently giving faster/better updates then the IIHF site. Which isn't exactly hard to do. :p

When the IIHF isn't experiencing network problems, they are very good in reporting scores live.

The official page is not down. You should notice that I have already updated the scores you just did.

The IIHF is still experiencing problems, but are slowly correcting them.

Kolusz scores a hat trick in a 13-0 Poland win over Spain. I fear for Iceland on the 31st, that's going to be ugly.

Just heard on TV Polonia...

Poland 6, Romania 2 F

:handclap:

Guess that means we only need to beat the Netherlands, and we get promoted! :yo:

very good news, but where will we be promoted(div1 A or B :dunno: )
BTW I've looked at the lineup and I'm asking myself if there is one or two 86 who could be drafted this year in the late rounds. Do you have any clue?

Honestly no clue on either one of 'em. People seem to be high on the Urbanowicz kid, though. And according to the little diagram on the IIHF website we'd be going into Div 1 A.

I'm pretty sure that the IIHF holds a draw to determine Groups A and B at the Division I and II levels. I should be able to confirm this within a day or so.

That would make more sense... but then, those diagrams are so misleading. :p
