No way do JM liles, Boyes, Williams and Visnovsky rank ahead of Dipietro. Say what you will about him but he'll be the cornerstone of that franchise for the next 15 years goddammit.

All I have to say is that it's ridiculous how underrated DiPietro is, especially after the year he had behind an atrocious defense.

Agreed completely. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I must ask the OP for an explanation on why DP is ranked where he is (why the few slightly before him are ranked there). Absurd in my opinion.

probably because he will be associated with Islanders trading Loungo and not Taking Heatley. He definantly should be top 4(Heatley being 1 with Gaborik, Lundquist and Dipietro filling the next 3 spots depending on preference)

Sigh Chicago would be so much better if they hadn't messed up this draft. I don't see why Orpik is 11 on some lists though. I'd rather have Hartnell, Stoll, Klesla, Vermette or Bryzgalov.

king henrik is good but not ahead of marion gaborik.

Obviously I am biased obviously but I see Henrik as a top 3 goaltender in the league with Broduer and Luongo ahead of him. Is Gaborik a top 3 forward in this league? Jagr, crosby, Oevchkin, Selanne, Heatley, Spezza, Hosa, Staal, Getzlaf, Malkin to name a few are all in my opinion better. In my opinion Lundquist has a lot more value than Gaborik.

If you think Lundqvist is better than Kiprusoff and Vokoun, then I guess you are.

Also, there's absolutely no way that Getzlaf, Spezza or Staal are better than Gaborik.

The 30 League General Managers disagree with you on that. You have an arguement in Kipper, but Henrik has been and will continue to be better than Vokun.

When Gaborik reaches 70 points, then you may have an argument. Till then...

No *****, Gaborik is good, no one is doubting that. But he's made of glass and cannot battle adversity very well.

When Getzlaf, Spezza, and Stall have more than 4 30-goal seasons in 5 years, playing 3 of those 30s on a defensive team with mediocre linemates, then you may have an argument. Picking out a number of points just over his career high for a goal scorer, not a playmaker, is a little weak.

He wasn't made of glass until 2003-4, and should not have the same problems next season. He will play full seasons again.

1. Heatley
2. Gaborik
3. Lundqvist

I'll make up the rest later.

Well, Staal has 2 and counting in 3 years. Spezza had almost back to back 90 point seasons. Getzlaf I won't argue (yet).

Oh, and Staal has a career high of 45 goals in a season. Gaborik has 38.

But to claim "absolutely no way" any of them are better is absolutely ridiculous. At worst, it's pretty close.

Gaborik over Lundqvist is crazy.

Not really.

And I wouldn't think twice about ranking DiPietro ahead of Lundqvist. I like Lundqvist, but he's never amazed me like DiPietro has. The 15 year contract thing is a little crazy, but if I had to pick one goalie in the world to serve that contract, it would be DiPietro, no question. But ask me that question again in a few years once Price, Harding and Rask have proven themselves.

Just for information. There is no way Torres is higher than Stoll/ IMO stoll should be in the top 8 there. He had 68 points last year as 3rd line center in EDM and plays a soldi two way gritty game. He is the pp point man and is in the top 10 in Faceoff wins.

And why the hell is boyes anywhere near that high?
