The only upside is that BECAUSE the Rags are an Original Six team, every time they play the Devils, it more than likely will end up on the National stage.

While that may be true, this is one occasion where the Devils just cannot pass up on Hughes.

And unfortunately, the Rags benefitted from whomever we didn't choose much like the Flyers benefitted when we chose Nico.

Unfortunately even moreso, Kakko is eons better than Nolan Patrick.

……in the end i leaned on nico due to patricks injury concerns…..and here i am happy….

I also thought they'd get bumped down...maybe not to 6 but I didn't figure lotto luck would strike again. They're way overdue for some market correction so hopefully now they won't NEED the damn lotto for a long time after this.

I just hope this isn't a FULL rerun of 2017 where we're all convinced it's Hughes now and then gradually we warm to the idea of Kakko, cause I really do like Hughes and the fact he skates with Hall makes this seem all too perfect. Of course if Kakko is the right pick in the end that's fine but this one just seems more of a no-brainer at face value.

Hahaha. He reminds me of Gaudreau but a center and bigger not quite as tiny. He's better than Gaudreau was at that age but the combination of speed and vision is similar.

The main board Hughes prospect thread is a cesspool. It does raise some areas that Hughes needs to work on, but geez, some people just can't disagree civilly.
