This really isn't about drafting for me, and more about my belief that goalies basically have no value, and even at the NHL level I do not care about them very much at all. I think that about 90% of the goalies in the league are completely inter-changeable and what is perceived as good performance is more a function of the team, system and random noise.

Much like other positions, goaltending is all about the 10% of elite talent that is not interchangeable.

Other than one regular season game, Thiessen's only action last year was a 2-0 shutout of the NTDP in an exhibition game.

With Swayman signing a pro contract is he in line for the starter's job or does Maine have other options?

When the Canucks signed Arturs Silovs the same year they drafted him, the future of Thiessen as a Canuck prospect probably hit 'zero'. Wouldn't surprise me if the Canucks draft another goaltender in the later rounds of the 2020 draft as well.
