Howe and Richard are easy.

Doug Harvey is almost as easy as the above. The best defenseman before Bobby Orr, backbone of a dynasty. Would have done even more if he hadn't been blackballed by Habs management, one of the great disgraces in NHL history.

I think Plante legitimately has an edge over Sawchuk. Growing up I think I had slightly inflated respect for Sawchuk because he held the wins record. I've come around to holding Plante as the better goalie.

It's hard leaving Lindsay off the list, but I just can't find room for him. Most decades he'd be a top-4.

Kennedy, Kelly, Bentley aren't on the level of the others.

Sawchuk and Plante both deserve to be there. I'm big on goalies.

Howe is unbeatable.

Went Doug Harvey as the fourth one. The best d-man, and the true originator of the spinorama move.

Fun poll, OP.

I’ll go Mr. Hockey, Rocket, Harvey and Plante. I can see arguments for Lindsay too though. Howe is the obvious lock.
