I'm only counting 16 games in March from the list above.

Still a huuuge number, too many. Insane. Needs to come down.

Bunnaman has held his own but no i'm not concerned about taking him out for TK.

You move Patrick or Laughton to 4C and use TK with Giroux and Hayes. That line needs a volume shooter anyway.

I just think Patrick is a better fit with G. Hayes does not mesh with G. He doesn't really mesh with anyone, but especially not G. G's game relies so much on quickly making the right decisions with the puck, on being able to understand where everybody on the ice is or is going to be and what they're going to do. Hayes does so much freelancing out there because he's just making it up as he goes, that it's impossible to know what he's going to do. He doesn't even know what he's going to do.

Could try..

JVR - Coots - Farabee
Giroux - Patrick - Konecny
Lindblom - Hayes - Voracek
Raffl - Laughton - NAK

But Patrick will need to shoot the puck to warrant that spot.

I've liked Lindblom Laughton Voracek. They weirdly compliment one another. I'm big on line chemistry, or at least my perceived line chemistry. I'd honestly play Hayes with Raffl and NAK. I think they could also weirdly compliment one another. All three of them have a little (or a lot) of chaotic good in their games. The biggest issue there is can Patrick handle C duties at the moment.

I just dont think you can move your near PPG center in Hayes to the 4th line. Just not enough ice time to go around.

We have some good problems at forward right now.

There was one specific sequence in the last game where Hayes was entering the offensive zone in the middle of the ice with two Sabre defensemen right in front of him, Giroux was on the right side all by himself, and either Patrick or Provorov (can't remember) was all by himself coming down the left side. Giroux was clearly calling for the puck and ready for the quick pass across to the open guy on the left, who was right at the top of the circle, but Hayes just held it.... held it... held it... and nothing ever came of it. It was such a perfect example of why he can't play with Giroux.

It's infuriating that he's Giroux's most common teammate OF ANY FORWARD OR DEFENSEMEN this year at 5v5. Second highest forward teammate is Patrick. Could be a contributing factor to why Giroux's scoring isn't matching his quality play this year, huh? Then wayyyyy lower (30%) is Voracek. Just dumb.

I think moving Patrick down to 4C is the least disruptive, and that's kind of where he slots right now based on his play and production.

Are they practicing today?

I missed the first Buffalo game and was not wide awake for the second. I did see Patrick was the only forward you not register a shot late in the second game. Was the RW move literally a lateral move or did he look a little better?

From what I saw, Patrick is the fourth line center. And you have to get TK in obviously.

I'd say he looked a little better simply because being on a line with G and Hayes virtually guarantees your line will get sustained offensive zone time, and that gives Patrick an opportunity to get some reps in on offense.

That being said, I still think he should be 4C for now moreso because the other lines are producing and Patrick might actually get more out of NAK and Raffl and help elevate their offensive game.

Can't hurt to try, right?

As I said yesterday, these lines are best possible in my eyes:

Oskar-Coots-TK (Coots is Coots, you can play whoever with him and they will be still good)
G-Patrick-Jake (they played together before and they played very well + everyone who plays with Giroux this year, was good because of Giroux is great and have positive impact on every teammate + Jake has had great chemistry with Giroux always)
JVR-Laughton-Farabee (they played together before as well and they were very, very good)
Raffl-Hayes-NAK (Hayes can be dog hog with them all time + be fair, Hayes doesn't deserve to be in TOP6 after last two games...)

For me: I don't want just break duo JVR-Farabee, the chemistry between them is great.
