Adam Silver really is out here running laps around all the other commissioners. It's too bad each sport doesn't have an innovative person in charge who really gets it like the NBA does.
You'll know I'm right when the games begin.
Got a cliff notes version or link of what he's doing?
I mean, it's everything really. His idea to set up a bubble in Orlando and how well-thought out that plan is. Not being totally tone-deaf like other pro sports, in respect to the BLM movement and allowing players to feel like they are being heard and respected. I have a lot more confidence in the NBA coming back and finishing their season than I do the NHL.
Coronavirus: How NBA's Adam Silver may have saved sports from itself
NBA boss Adam Silver faces the league's biggest challenge ever to restart the season, but insiders say he's prepared
That's also possible. If there's another lockdown, it makes little sense to ask players to play.I still doubt this actually happens.
Nothing to do? There's other things in life. I want to watch sports as well, but not in gimmicky format. Lately, I've been watching vintage games on TV. So I'm getting my hockey fix that way.So is that what its about really? You being right?
What if the games are pretty entertaining?
Obviously, any sport at all outside of maybe the NFL the 19-20 championship has a bit of an asterisk next to it. Not cause of cheating like the Astros/RedSox/Baseball but just cause of the gap between the season, the amount of teams allowed into the playoffs...
Pandemic asterisks championships! It's almost a different badge really.
It's different than every other year but still worth watching if you want to be entertained by Hockey/Basketball. I think leagues would be doing a dis-service to the public/fans not playing when fans/people have nothing to do.

Just let sleeping dogs lie and move on to the 2020-2021 season.
Plenty of posters in this thread are on the same page as me. Read through the thread before making false statements.Huh. So you are pacified by watching vintage pre-determined games but find current live action games objectionable. I can't fathom why no one is on the same page as you.

Speaking of money, how will teams generate revenue without playoff ticket sales?I don't share your fervor for the quality of the product, but I'd be totally fine shutting it all down and starting fresh next year.
I think that may be the best thing, honestly, but I know there's just too much money involved for them not to try.
A dog is never cat.
Dumb.
dont watch it if you dont like it
i'm ecstatic we may yet get more hockey

Because in those seasons, you didn't have 4 to 5 months off between the regular season and "playoffs". Also, they didn't play in empty stadiums when the season resumed. So it's nothing alike. There should not be an asterisk for 1995 or 2013.I dont get how completing this season would be any different to the two strike shortened seasons. Those are legit Stanley cup wins and so will this years.
