From my draft sleeper capsules

LW Nikola Pasic, Linkoping, SWE JR.

Certainly a kid for Devils fans to keep an eye on, as he's an extremely quick-skating player with good skill who could be available in the 5th/6th/7th rounds. Ray Shero and Paul Castron have made a habit of drafting this type of player, and it has worked out for them in the past.

Pasic is average sized (5'10-180), but he does not shy away from physicality. He's a solid defensive player and always trying to support his teammates. Though his strongest asset is his skating, he is also very good at puck handling and features and excellent wrist shot and nice, accurate one-timer. If there's a weakness in Pasic's game it's that his vision is somewhat lacking -- he can have tunnel vision with the puck. Though he can lace a pass to an open teammate, he is not accomplished at finding line-mates through the seams or anticipating offensive plays. This leads me to believe that Pasic's upside is as a second/third line tweener with great speed and some scoring ability.

That being said, he is not a player I would target in the second or third rounds, but rather the bottom rounds. He's the type of player who can give a team energy, bursts of offense, and a jolt in the team speed department. Nikolas Pasic would be a very solid pick in the late rounds for these reasons.

Just want to say that Scott Wheeler had him as a sleeper too, and actually had him rated in the top 90 of overall prospects.

Good way to cap off the draft. Grabbing a skill euro with decent size already.

Didn't even realize he was still on the board...what a great pick. Pasic has fantastic vision. He has room to improve for his acceleration, but man is he a battler.

As pretty much always, I couldn't agree with you more. I'd love to see your write-up of Pasic, you do a far better in depth review of the Euro prospects than I tend to.

Just watching that too. Honestly think he could be a player that excels in N.A. more than internationally. Looked decent on the cycle, making shorter area passes, showing some tenacity against bigger players, and seems like a puck hound on the backcheck. Doesn't look speedy, but has some shiftiness and hands on him.

Pasic actually skates extremely well. Likely bottom 6 checking LW, but could develop into 2nd liner.

Pasic has fantastic vision and an absolute boatload of skill. Overall he skates rather well - I'd just like to see him improve his acceleration in that regard. Funny enough about that comment on Bratt by @glenwo2 because Pasic's situation reminds me very much like Bratt's post-draft. Clearly there's a ton of skill and intelligence there, but it's as if he struggles a bit to figure out what kind of player he wants to be. He'll try to stickhandle through crowds or he'll shoot the puck a whole lot to an almost-predictable level...but really when it comes down to it, I think some clear direction for him would do him wonders in his development. Give him the Bratt treatment. There's a ton of skill and also a great room for improvement. What a pick to end the draft on.

I think he might be the new "bratt" pick.

You've got to realize, much like everything @Bleedred talks about is Goalie-centric, everything @glenwo2 talks about is Bratt-centric :sarcasm:
