They saw Palmu last year and thought, can we go even smaller?

Drafting smaller skilled players who were passed in previous drafts is usually a good thing, but this one is kind of extreme. At 20, one would hope he'd have more proven success in the KHL.

You'd really hope that weight measurement is outdated, because that is not a lot. But it's the same type of pick as Palmu last year. Undersized skilled double overager. His totals last year are huge, and he already played mainly with men this year, but he didn't put up a lot of points. It's a skill pick and I like that, it worked out well last year with Palmu so far.

Overage, undersized, plays on the wing and from Russia. Talk about trying to beat the odds with this pick.

Ehhh I'm all for taking overage undersized talents but this seems really extreme. Absurdly tiny and the only hope is that that is an old measurement.

Plus I tend to feel that drafting Russians is just flushing a pick down the toilet in most cases.

I tried to find an updated size measurement but the IIIF website for the WJCs and the KHL team measurement both have him at the same 139 lbs.

If he was 18 it's one thing but at 20 ....
