I wonder if not having JT to shelter him has any significance? I was told repeatedly that Barzal would score even more without JT around, that seemed strange.
He’s playing the power play at the boards trying to set up f***ing cal clutterbuck playing the bumper

The first power play should be Barzal Nelson lee

Vince Dunn is good offensively but pretty terrible defensively. He's basically Shattenkirk.

(1) Sophomore slump,
(2) Struggles to accommodate to Trotz defense (NYI are currently top 10 in GA/GP), no more free wheeling as it used to be under Weight,
(3) Single digits PP, last in the entire league over the last month,
(4) And yes, no JT –

in this order.

We've been blessed the last few years with a terrific injection of talent. I'd say the last 4 years would rival any other 4 year period for quality players entering the league.

I might be off with a couple players and missed a few others but you get the drift.

Ya, that’s going to happen when you purchase another professional hockey league.

How many were the result of the WHA joining the NHL.
Definitely a great group but they also come with an asterisk.

McAvoy deceptively low on the list due to his lack of games played from his concussion, but would love for him to come back and continue that 0.86 PPG pace.

DeDrusk was rather snake bitten (despite generating the chances) to start off the season. I can see his spot increasing before the end of the season.

For the sake of my fantasy team, would love to see Keller really hit a stride as well.

Not many. Gretzky but was the same age. As was Vaive. So without the WHA they would've been drafted in '79 or '80.
Kent Nilsson I accidentally put in there as he was two years older.
I didn't mention the Baby Bulls outside of Vaive I don't think - nor guys like Ulf Nilsson and others. I shouldn't have mentioned Peter Statsny either.
It was just a crazy how much influx of talent there was over those couple years.

Same as '03-'06

Was just killing a bit of time. And having a little throw-back minute.

except the NHL now doesn't have to deal with it. Gretzky would be drafted that year. Most all of the players I mentioned were actually drafted in '79 or '80. There's definitely a few mistakes - but also probably players I forgot.

Really do like the new crop of players. Was just having a bit of fun.

Of course we'll need time to allow those in the last 4 years to play out their careers to compare but the group you mentioned is absolutely stiff competition.
