Welp....Bratt made all the doubters look stupid today.

The biggest doubter being John Hynes.

For one game, Bratt showed that not only could he handle the playoff atmosphere but he could still work with "less space and ice, and elbow room" even in the playoffs.

He even had a huge breakaway opportunity(provided by Nico) where, if he had cashed in, this board would've shut down in ecstacy.

Been a great year and Bratt has been a tremendous find for this franchise. And I look forward to him and Nico growing as players together.

I understand why he didn't play. His second half was rough enough that he lost his shot. If it were me, I would've put him in there after game one.

But I am so excited to see what this kid does. He's the real deal and is still one of the youngest players in the league.

Yeah I didnt think he would do well today, but he did. Proud of Bratt this year and finishing his last game of the year pretty well. Here is to much better stuff from him next year.

I think his main problem was that at the beginning of the year no one really had him scouted out against other teams so he played well. But as the year went on teams figured him out more and probably were able to shut him down more often along with him being fatigued a bit probably. Maybe he needs to change it up some more I dunno.

Bratt looked good today, but like the rest of the team, couldnt finish. Story of the series. Oh well, it's over, moving on to a better (hopefully) 2018/19.

He had a rough 2nd half, but I expect him to take another step next season. What a steal he was regardless.

Had some great plays on our breakout today. He fits the system well and he's just a real smart player. Struggled down the stretch but he's so young and has so much potential. Having him and Nico on the top line for a long time will be fantastic, let alone Hall there beside them.

Kid played very well, I trusted him with the puck more than most.

You have to wonder if we had Bratt, Gibbons and Grabner in all series instead of the sloths.

Don't know about Grabner or Gibbons.....but they're both better than Stafford and Boyle.

Hell....I could lace up the skates, get out on the ice and I'd outplay Stafford and Boyle.

And as far as Bratt goes, it's an absolute TRAVESTY that he was healthy scratched for 4 straight games instead of playing Game 2, 3, and 4 instead.

We got to the dance in large part due to the the Hall-Nico-BRATT line...*NOT* the line with Palms.

Hynes was stupid to not put that line back out there in Game 2 onward.

'cause I saw that the Bolts just didn't know how to handle Bratt.

PLUS, he's got a skill that apparently no one else on this Devils team has : CLEARING THE PUCK FROM THE DEFENSIVE ZONE.

I hope he shoots the puck more next year. He has a wicked shot, particularly a wicked slap shot that we saw too little of. He was maybe too unselfish at times this year. He had a pure finishing skill and hands that the team can utilize. Me too as to wishing he’d played more in this series as opposed to Stafford.

So you WANT Bratt to get hurt then just so your point is proven?

No, I’m asking you. Because I wouldn’t look like an ass if it happened just because I mentioned it, which is why I asked you if you think I have the powers to make things come true.

Anyways... you waaay overthought my comment which was supposed to be in jest.

Yes I did. I completely misunderstood what you were alluding to.

My brain now hurts. :headache:

I mean sure he played well but he didn't score and the team was thoroughly outplayed so you can't say the results of the other games would have been any different if he'd played earlier. The extended period in the scratch box probably rejuvanated his batteries a bit, today he looked more like early season Bratt than post-November Bratt.

Impressive to see his composure a couple times where he took an extra second and made some slick moves to open up space. To do that stuff in his first playoff game is superb.

At one point where he was behind the net area and a Bolts player was coming after him to get the puck, instead of moving away and just chipping it around the boards, he instead stickhandles it into a nice pass out of the zone.

Kid's got poise, talent, and moxy.

Yep, cut right almost into the crease and started the transition out of the zone impeccably. Love that confidence. Need to staple him with hall and hischier next season. Let that trio grow together for the long term
