Just some quick observations. This is all despite winning 3 of our last 4 and picking up points in 4 of our last 4. Yay for delaying the inevitable and perpetuating mediocrity though. I don't like being like this, but come the **** on who doesn't see how this is going to end aside from deadhead and Ghost's Beer?

What did you expect this season? It's not like Giroux, Voracek, Couts and Ghost were going to play any better, and they weren't good enough to make this a top 8 team last year.
The young players are playing well, even Weise is playing well, but to get to the next level you need top level talent.
So how do you get it? Who could you trade that would get you a top four RHD or a fast RW?
Or do you wait a year for them to arrive out of your talent pipeline?

Folin, Hagg, Weise, Weal, Lehtera aren't going to garner you the talent you want.

We need another scoring play driving center. Patrick and Couts are good but we need someone to back them up. Weal is ok every now and then, Lehtera has been....ok but only when graded on a curve. I don't want to sound hyperbolic but Morgan Frost's development is almost as vital to our future as Carter Hart's.

You mean you need top level talent TO ADD TO THE TOP TALENT WE ALREADY HAVE.

A fast RW? Konecny and Jake are not fast?

Uh, I think if you're gonna replace Hakstol, don't go the dinosaur route.

Today's game is changing before our eyes, no, it's not TB and figure skaters, it's not the Kings and king kong hockey, it's going to be some of what we saw from the Pens for a couple years and what we saw from Vegas last year.

Speed, aggressive forechecking, hard backchecking, physical play in the corners and along the boards, not giving up the slot and crease without a fight.
No slugs allowed, but only a couple smurfs among your 12 forwards, only one or two "softee" defensemen paired with physical guys who CYA for them.
Balancing size, speed, skill with attitude, edge and Hockey IQ.

TK is fast, Voracek used to be fast, watching Grabner skate around him exposed his age. He's not slow, but he's slowing down and still hasn't compensated by developing PF skills and attitude. Remember, Grabner is OLDER than Jake.

More lies.

Grabber is STILL one of the leagues fastest skaters. He exposes everyone. But don't let facts get in the way.

Lehtera had even less ice time. Ignoring that Lehtera isn't an NHL player, going with 10 guys is not...great.

But the heat map from tonight is exactly what we need to see. Bullseye in the crease for the Flyers. Flyers defense did a good job of limiting the high danger chances-only 4 on the night for Arizona at 5 on 5
