I had a quick glance at the upcoming schedule and I don't think I'm overly impressed.
Road Trips
12 X 1 = 12
4 X 2 = 8
3 X 3 = 9
1 X 5 = 5 (Feb. 28-Mar. 8)
1 X 7 = 7 (Dec. 29-Jan.12)
___
41
Home Stands
10 X 1 = 10
10 X 2 = 20
2 X 3 = 6
1 X 5 = 5
____
41
15 back to backs (1 home/6 road/4road-home/4home-road)
9 X 3 games in 4 nights/ 1 X 4games in 5 nights/1 X 4 games in 6 nights
I don't think I like the fact that the Wings have a total of 22 of "one game stands" (10 home and 12 away). This means a lot of plane trips back and forth. Nov is particularly bad with r/2h/r/h/r/h/r/h/2r/2h.
Apparently this year, all teams will get a "bye week". The Wings' bye is from Feb. 22-27. This means they will play 1 game in 9 days. I wonder if the teams are allowed to practice during the "bye" week?? Sure hope so.
