They just see something in him. Not sure if he is a better option that an undrafted CHL/College/Euro forward for that contract slot.

Not banking on him ever making it in the top 6. Maybe he can find a niche in the bottom 6 as a checker. If he can make the nhl as a 10-14 forward for a few years that is still something.
