All Eastern Conference teams lost today.
13-14 ATL Thread 3: Most of the League At Best Starts.. Then There's NJD/FLA/BUFF
the new thread as the other one is reaching 1000
NBC must be crying bricks with Philly, NY and Washington all sucking.
keep on kicking eastern butt, West as long as it's not the Leafs
That's what I'm hoping for
it's actually really funny that the west is just mopping the floor with the East. (but I can live with it).
I know its still early in the season but I feel like I really over rated Ottawa this year...
After the collective **** we had to take during the year we drafted 2nd and didn't have the pick, I am seriously looking forward to daily tracking of where the Senators and Devils pick this year.
Oct 13th - New Jersey (5th), Ottawa (8th)
With double the inter-conference games this year onwards (28 for us v/s 15 the previous years), winning games against Western Conference has become lot more important.
2-1-0 so far for us. West is 27-6-3 against the East.
He's currently in Binghamton.
My god the Atlantic is so much harder than the Metro... Not even fair. Looks like Philly is truly bad, G with 1 point in 6 games, lolwut? Lock for team Canada lolwut?
NJ is gunna be a bottom 5 team with no first rounder, what a shame...
Kings fan here; I just wanted to say Scrivens for Veznia! GAA:0 SV100%.
Nah but really Ben has looked really good for us and I thank you for giving us him. Frattin on the other hand has been invisible, pretty much Dustin PennerV2 with speed to his game; he doesnt hit.
And so I hear Bernier is what Kings fans expected him to be and Leafs fans doubted he'd be?
Yeah it really isn't fair . Half of that division is terrible. If things hold steady there it will just be a competition for 4 teams for 3 spots and since they can feast on their own division it gives the 4th team a good chance for one of the wild card spots.
Certainly Florida and Buffalo aren't looking to be powerhouses, but everyone else could theoretically be in the mix. Oh well, we've just got to keep winning regardless of what kind of teams are in our division.
oh my word....
imagine if like crazy of crazies they finished 1-2?
(who got NJ's Pick if it were forfeit?)
Do neither have their first round picks? lol
Yea. I saw Kings games and Frattin is invisible (except for when cameras were having a full closeup of him during face-off today).
I wanted to watch Scrivens today, but fell asleep after the 1st.
Yeah Sens traded it in the Ryan deal and NJD must forfeit the pick this year for Kovalchuk lol.
I think NJ just gets skipped. So like if they have the 4th pick, the draft order would go:
Sens gave theirs to the Ducks, and NJ forfeited theirs
I could careless about east vs west right now. Its too early to toot your horns for either side. If we wanted to we could just point to the Red Wings and ask why they don't have a perfect record in the easy east. Also Calgary is 3rd in the west do you guys really expect that to continue? Its early give it 25 games or so before you judge the league as a whole. I just wish the east had as many easy to beat teams as the west, Oilers, Flames, Preds, Coyotes. Its really just Florida, Buffalo and maybe Philly in the east.
If NJ finished last and got the 1st overall pick...there would be no 1st overall pick this year because it gets forfeited.
Starts from the 2nd overall (technically the first pick and NJ loses Sam Reinhart).
Poor New Jersey.
(though I still don't get why they didn't give it up when it was 29th..)
This board could use another Kessel vs Seguin
I am guessing it was a terrible attempt to keep Parise.
They wanted to show that NJ is a team that could pick 30th (win the Cup) if Parise stays...he ended up bolting back to Minnesota.
but that doesn''t make sense.
like. okay yes it makes sense - but KEEPING the pick doesn't prove anything. like drafting 29 doesn't go "okay well next year we're 30, Parise!" if it were me, and i knew I had to give one up regardless - i would have said here, Gary take #29.
[and thanks for those who answered re: the pick dynamics].
I still don't think it's fair that out of ALL the teams that clearly cap circumvented, that NJD is the only one who had to pay the way they did.
