Why not Zack Redmond? The guy that’s tearing the AHL to shreds ?

What an asinine take. We’re playing our 10th dman (Tennyson) with 4 dmen out injured. Guhle, in his 2nd pro season, is struggling in Rochester many nights badly. We are calling up an organizational depth vet with NHL experience over the struggling kid who hasn’t played well enough to warrant call up. Possibly one of the least controversial ho hum moves a team could make.

Guhle isn’t up and playing because of Guhle’s own play in Rochester not because of your other hot take ..... that Housley and Botts are “looking away from playing good players”.

Maybe follow LGA and/or some other Rochester folks to get a better picture of what’s going on on the farm. None of them are very surprised that Guhle wasn’t called up. EDIT: IN fact an argument was made that Borgen had a long shot chance. Can’t remember who that was, Bakes or LGA maybe?

I would have posted something like this earlier in the thread, but it really is getting tiring to counter the screamers every week.

Going with the journeyman vet when down a bunch of defensemen sounds like smart conventional wisdom, until you realize that player is Matt Tennyson, who at the close of this game, is worth a goal against every 12.5 minutes over a 200+ min sample size.

Ugh...why can't our professional franchise see this? It's remarkable that this guy made it into an NHL game this season.

He played because four dmen were injured and Guhle is underperforming this year. Essentially 5 dmen had to be out of the picture in order for him to get into the lineup and hardly see the ice. Tennyson only played 11:46mins overall, only Mitts (11:26mins) played less and Tage had the same amount.

There are plenty of legit criticisms of our coach and to a lesser extent our GM. Why go to such a ridiculous length over this? He isn't why we lost no matter how crappy he is.

Because he should literally never see NHL ice unless he is the only Rochester defensemen with an NHL contract, because he is that bad at hockey.

Playing him sheltered bottom pairing minutes still means you likely need to win the other 48 by more than a goal. His occupation of the highest return offensive situations buries two other pairings, and means the Sabres do less with their choicest opportunities.

Agreed, Pilut should be seeing some of those prime offensive zone minutes. Guhle should've been the call, as he's typically been a solid NHL'er.

Can someone more tech savvy than me post the video some guy on YouTube made of Daniel Bryan doing the Yes chant for 10 hours?
