Kadri on Hockey Central...talking about the PP and AGAINST PKers:

"A lot of teams are ALL OUT PRESSURE especially when the puck is on the wall or if there is a bobble. A lot of PK's are REALLY AGGRESSIVE in that situation"

Hey Lappy....you watching????

Being aggressive makes it really hard to block pucks with your face though.

Bovada has Hakstol as the 6th best odds for a coach to get fired:

John Stevens (LA): 7/2
Jeff Blashill (DET): 4/1
Bob Boughner (FLA): 9/2
Todd McLellan (EDM): 9/2
Mike Yeo (STL): 11/2
Dave Hakstol (PHI): 15/2

The weird thing is that... Hakstol is driving a playoff team into the dirt yet, these rebuilding teams have coaches higher

I mean outside of Detroit pretty much all those teams should at least have the goal of making the playoffs this year.

They could also be factoring in that Hakstol’s survived multiple fireable instances to this point & one of the longest tenured coaches despite accomplishing really nothing noteworthy.

That's not true at all. Maybe he wanted them to go faster, but there was no possible way for his system to be fast. It couldn't be done. He had them play like it was the DPE.

In Berube's defense he had a defense core that was basically slop. Coburn was the best but man his decision making process was garbage.

The only playoff series the Flyers were not completely embarassed in since 2012 was with Berube behind the bench in 2014.

Even though he was a cement-head, he was a better coach than Hakstol.

You do know the Flyers are 4-5?

Last year they started 4-2 then went 7-9-7, after that 31-15-7
Hakstol's first season they started 6-9-5, then went 35-18-9
2013-14, 4-10-1, then went 38-20-9
2011-12, 5-4-1 and went 42-22-8
2010-11, 4-4-1 and went 43-19-11
2009-10, 5-4-1, and went 36-31-5
2008-09, 4-5-3 and went 40-22-8 the rest of the way.

So this team seems to have a tradition of slow starts followed by hot finishes.
Which means you can't bury this team until at least December.

A win here and there does nothing but delay what should have already happened and needs to happen.

The longer Hextall delays, the closer his ass gets to the fire.

He can hang with his coaches if that’s his choice.

Listening to people discuss possible alternatives makes it clear there are no good alternatives available mid-season.
In that case, if you're Hextall, you're going to be very patient, your coach has a history (as does your team) of turning it around after slow starts, and the alternatives could be worse (Knob, Gordon, Lappy, Hitchcock . . .).
