Versus' weekly sports business 30-minute show.
Bruins and Red Sox are keeping the Winter Classic rink up before/after event -- at a cost (paid to the NHL) for $60k/day. The teams are offering corporations/sponsors to rent ice at ~$7500-10,000 per hour.
First interview was with Ticketmaster spokesman. Future may be paperless "ticket" to access venue. (Either a ID card for season tickets or the use of a credit card that paid for the tickets to gain access.) The issue of a STH transferring access for a single game to a friend (sans ID/CC), or splitting single STH for multiple folks in group weren't clearly addressed. Ticketmaster represents 27 NHL and 28 of 30 NBA teams.
