Ok, I'll go against the grain. I like the defense better without Green or Daley in the lineup, and am optimistic that Cholowski, Hicketts and Bowey can step up short term. It's going to be scrambly around our own blue line, but we have a lot of wingers that can play into or feed off of that.
The 2nd line is a huge concern for me. A lot to ask of Erne, who has been a net negative so far. I can see how a forechecking puck stopper could really help that line, we'll see if Erne is up to anything other than spin cycling.
Blashill should play 21 and 3 with the top line pushing the puck forward, and 17 and 22 as the momma bear pair for the rest of the lineup, imo. Grant Bowey and Hicketts a couple minor penalties and toss em over the boards to pot shot and cause a stir, and maybe one of them can bump up to take half of Biegas shifts. Both guys are active defensively which works well with Cholowskis "break out or surrender outside shots" strategy.
