He stayed with 38 even after he lost a step, there was no rotation. One of the others should be stepping out to Suter. Neither did.

Watch it again. Pavelski lost his man and then instead of going back and covering Suter he took Klingbergs man.

Klingberg already took the guy Pavelski lost

I mean look at it . Thats is very much on Pavelski. Who else could've went to Suter ? Klingberg ? Pavelski blocked him and Gurianov had a man.

Watch when 38 swings, who goes with him, and the position of Klingberg’s head. He’s focused on Suter, he just doesn’t get out to get a stick or body in the lane, With Klingberg frozen, Gurianov is in a position where he could help but neither goes to shooter.

Pavelski slows down and blocks Klingberg from going anywhere for a few seconds after he lost Hagel . One of Klingberg or Pavelski should've went to Suter and imho Pavelski was in a better position for that. Neither did.

Letting a guy enter the zone with this much time , space and speed shouldn't happen .

Watch the angle from behind the net again. As Pavelski goes with the puck carrier, Klingberg steps up in the slot, recognizing that commitment. He turns his head to watch the puck for a second or two and doesn’t move his feet further. If he finds Suter and takes another step or two Suter doesn’t get the time and space. If either Klingberg or Gurianov is more active with the stick or body in that lane, no goal.
