For those of us who are work slaves on the weekend and couldn't watch the game, how did Hughes do outside his first goal?

He was buzzing for much of the night. He was more noticeable on zone entries than possession but he still did well on both. He had one play where he was carrying it from our blue line and he was going to go in for a big brake away attempt as Edler was falling down but Edler got lucky with a blind flail of his stick the opposite way to stop Jack.

Takes a massive hit by a MAN, comes back and plays a good game. Lol at the people who said he can’t play against men.

Hughes deserved to be number 1 pick and he has played well. But he is still kid physicaly and you can see it. He will be hell of a player in future and he can already play with men, thanks to his awesome skating and IQ.

He took a big hit and got right back into the swing of things which is what you want to see. There is nothing wrong with me making fun of the ridiculous narrative a lot of people created about playing against men because it was indeed ridiculous. My post had nothing to do with Kakko and everything to do with that narrative so you lurking on these boards and posting that reply isn’t helping with that perception.

Edit: His original reply was taken down by a mod.

He's looked like he belongs in the NHL the last 5 games, with flashes of stardom. Still forces some things with bad passes into skates / areas and kills offense, but you gotta give some leeway, creative players with elite skills like him need to take chances to figure out how to attack in the NHL.

I actually think Jack could be a great two way center in the future.

Was skeptical but he’s made enough progress in such a small amount of time,
