1-8: Jason Botterill with Schopp & the Bulldog on WGR (14:29)
#Sabres GM Jason Botterill is a little early, he joins Schopp & the Bulldog now at @716FoodandSport!
Botterill on WJC - Being a patriotic Canadian it was disappointing, but it was an outstanding tournament. The fact that Pekar made the Czech team was a big step. Samuelsson on USA, we think he'll be a leader on that team next year.
Botterill - Luukonen coming over to North America, playing well, carrying it over to the WJC, very proud of him. #Sabres
Botterill on Luukkonen - You're trying to stockpile, especially in that role. It's a long route. He'll turn pro next year, and will have some difficult moments. #Sabres
Botterill on Luukkonen - It's a tough spot over in Finland right now. He played a little in division one over there, but it's not about development. Just about winning. #Sabres
Botterill on depth scoring - Every GM wants more depth. That's what's different between us and the true elite teams. Especially when Jack is out of our lineup, we don't have that supply at forward. #Sabres
Botterill - Always wanting to find more skill. If you compare us to last year, we've improved our speed and skill. If we want to be a top team in the league, there's still a ways to go. #Sabres
Botterill - It's part of the reason we brought in Jeff Skinner. He's always creating chances out there. What's intrigued us about creating a relationship long term with him, the goals will come & go, the chances are always there. #Sabres
Botterill - Over the last couple weeks, it's not that we're playing poorly, but in key times we're not finding ways to create those chances. #Sabres
Botterill - We still want to be a solid defensive team, but one of the best ways to be a good defensive team is to have the puck all the time. #Sabres
Botterill - When you don't have Jack in the lineup, you need big games from Skinner & Reinhart. Hopefully Sam plays tonight. #Sabres
