Blow it up
Indirectly losing because of a too many men penalty with the goalie pulled is very Rongos like.
It’s probably worth noting that Nashville finished with the best record in the NHL last year.
Pulling the goalie is a failed institution.
But that was fun and we deserved better.
I want to lose for Hughes, but I can't bring myself to root for losses. I'm not going to be able to watch this season.
Considering KZB did nothing for 59:30, I can't be upset with that performance as a team. Salty we lost when we should have been on the PP, and that TMM was something else. But, all things considered, this team looks pretty okay.
They need to show Pionk some tape of the 2 on 1's that he was back for. Each time he gave the shooter far too much time and space.
Hank looked very good, definitely bailed the defense out many times. This game could've been much worse considering the amount of odd man rushes the Preds had.
Kreider looked hesitant all night.
Why in hell Buch was crying after the game?
We played a solid game imo. Good signs moving forward IMO. Definite improvements defensively, but the lack of talent is too much to overcome.
Thank you for the separate Post Game Thread.
I cannot tell you how much I loathe when the Gameday Thread just carries over to the Post Game and we don't get a separate thread
We need 12 Veseys.
My boy Steve Valiquette is going to have to carry the weight this season.
Fast may not be the most liked player on this board, but I would bet a decent amount that he's the least hated.
He had some great saves though so give the Nashville goalie some credits too, but I agree he should at least score one goal and same with Vesey with his chances this night.
*Shrug* I’m not super disappointed
They played hard and it was competitive till the last second
One observation, Tony D needs to be on that second PP unit. I like Pionk but come on
Bad. But in a good way.
All things considered solid game. We hung with last years President's trophy winners and could have won if not for bad officiating/attempting to have a 7 on 4.
To reply to a last post in the GDT:
I'm hoping for a low finish and a lotto shot but with compete levels. One-goal games, everyone learning the system, seeing new faces rotate in and adapt...
We're very likely not even a hopeful bubble playoff team, so at this point for me it's really hoping for both things but I'd prefer they finish middle of the pack with good tight games and compete level than finish bottom rung with a lot of blowouts and lack of motivation. Getting the better pick(s) is certainly desired/needed, but even more is developing well and building the team spirit and competitiveness with the new coach and new guys. Basically no Edmontoning is my POV. Some will say you're not a true fan if you don't always wish for a win but there's also a middle ground more realistic take on it, I believe, and that's what I want to see.
Howden really fun to watch. Good for Quinn giving him some looks at both ends of the ice.
This is the kind of game that makes everyone happy.
OK..Not too much to be upset about tonight.
I can't say any of the top players made much of an impact but on the bright side, Quinn's system is looking legit thus far..
He's still very young.
Nashville scoring literally seconds after the refs didn't call a blatant high stick against them was brutal.
Then they give us a PP late and the PP was pretty bad, couldn't get anything going.
Vesey looked good. Great assist by Chytil. Howden had a decent game on the forecheck.
They played well against a really good team and the refs, and got nothing from the KZB line until last minute. Sucks that we lost but I'm encouraged by what I saw.
Staal was flat out the worst player on the ice.
Kreider are you kidding me? Still playing invisible?
Spooner not much.
How do you have 7 men on the ice??? HOW
Separate names with a comma.
