Nicklas Backstrom (F) - Elitserien: 1-1-0-1

Bäckström is being hyped beyond belief here in Sweden. The coach comparing him to Forsberg etc. He is looking damn good though, I must admit.

Backstrom is my early season sleeper as a top 10, maybe even top 5, for 2006. I thought he outperformed Bergfors at the U18s last season and seemed to be coming on in every tournament. He's a very complete, mature player- hardly ever makes a mistake.

Note that the only two players that made their SEL-debut at a younger age were Mats Näslund & Thomas Steen, pretty good company if you ask me.

However Bo "Drobny" Zetterberg was only 14 (!) when he made his debut 1958.
