“I played throughout college....”

I was having an argument with a guy about a particular hit and he pulled out the “I played throughout college” card. I was curious, so I looked him up.

Turns out he played for a Club team at the University of Southern California (USC). This is not NCAA sanctioned and it looks like they don’t even ice three full lines and two parings. It’s a club like the debate club or the Young Republicans. They play only other club teams in that Southern California area.

So I started to chuckle, but I though that maybe I didn’t “get it”. What do you make of his comment about “playing throughout college”?

Meh. Not all club hockey is equal, some is played at a pretty high level. Can't personally speak to the quality at USC, but the club team at CU Boulder was decent.
