I think Canada’s goaltending could be a problem in four years.

Lots of competition out there among the major teams.

US and Finland have a lot of young talent maturing, the Russians finally have some defencemen, the Swedes are still in the running.

Canada is always the favourite. A lot of new players can become really good in 4 years, and you never know what happens in a single-game elimination tournaments, but Canada is the favourite.

Nylander - Bäckström - Hörnqvist
Rakell - Zibanejad - Pettersson
Andersson - Wennberg - Silfverberg

Ekholm - Karlsson
Klingberg - Hedman
Lindholm - Dahlin
(pretty good D)

Lehner
Markström
Nilsson

We lack the some offensive power, otherwise it is ok.

bäckström and hörnqvist 4 years from now might not be very good, age is catching up. they will be like sedins and loui have been this season. andersson is a question mark, we have better prospects than him imo. william karlssons season might be a fluke, look at other vegas players who where all average who also exploded point wise this season, we will see next seasons what he is really made of. i am unsure about wennberg, he is very streaky. kempe will surpass him soon.

The thread title and the poll question are two different things. It also depends on when the next "all star tournament" is. If the 2018 Olympics had been best on best then Canada would have been a heavy favourite. If the 2022 tournament is then Canada will likely be the favourite but not to nearly the same degree. If the 2020 World Cup happens and is an actual best on best this time then Canada will be the favourite but other national teams are rising up. As for the team being unbeatable, no team is unbeatable.

Very difficult to beat, but not unbeatable. Certainly more more difficult to beat than any hockey team, though that is partially because basketball is a game where upsets are much more difficult.

Finnish team 4 years from now may look something like this:

Laine-Barkov-Rantanen
Mi.Granlund-Aho-Teräväinen
Tolvanen-Borgström-Donskoi
Puljujärvi-Haula-Armia

Ristolainen-Heiskanen
Vatanen-Määttä
Lindell-Nutivaara

Rask (Saros, Raanta)
Then because it’s four years away some of the following youngsters may have a shoot at making this team: Välimäki, Jokiharju, Vaakanainen, Juolevi, Kotkaniemi, Kakko, Vesalainen etc.

Canada's defense will be atrocious in 4 years time. Sweden, USA blows Canada out of the water on the backend. Vlasic on our top 4 is laughable. Drew Doughty will be 33, Subban will be pushing 34. We have no stud dman coming up the pipeline that even comes close to the Americans and Swedes.
