All about the young players preparing to enter the NHL.
The Montreal fans on HF conducted an extensive 7-round mock draft, here are the results.
10. Timothy Liljegren
9. Casey Mittelstadt
8. Eeli Tolvanen
7. Jesse Puljujarvi
This is really a strong strong draft, each team will have a very different list from the next, from pick 6 on is pretty much going to be totally different for every team with guys in the 2nd round being able to fill in for 1st round.
Top 125 prospects for the 2018 NHL draft.
I’ve decided to go for a different “theme” each month, and this month is gonna be the big one, my top 200 prospects eligible for the 2018 draft. There are some overagers and unheard of prospects to most included, but that’s what you get when making a list of 200. I’ve seen ALMOST every single player on this list at least once, with some just a highlight or good word put in. Thanks for the continued support on my monthly endeavour. If you have any ideas on what type of ranking I should do...
10. Dylan Strome - Arizona, 9. Henrik Borgstrom - Florida, 8. Lias Andersson - New York Rangers, 7. Martin Necas - Carolina, 6. Kirill Kaprizov - Minnesota ...
In my day job we have a tool called a pre-mortem. We discuss what could go wrong before making a significant change to a strategy or process. I am using a similar idea here. Basically, this is a prediction of what a "re-draft" in 2023 might say. The list is of players outside the consensus top 15--because it is hard to define a sleeper that everyone thinks is among the elite.
1. Martin Kaut. He is just now making a few lists as a late first-rounder. Given his size, success in international...
Over the past 20 days, I've conducted a set of daily polls to roughly determine who HFBoards thought were the top 20 goaltending prospects in the NHL.
The requirements to be included were the goalie had to be under 25 years of age at the starting date of the first poll, and the goalie must have fewer than a total of 20 NHL games of experience.
In conclusion, these are the results:
#1: Carter Hart (PHI) [27.4%]
#2: Ilya Samsonov (WSH) [47.7%]
#3: Igor Shestyorkin (NYR) [34.7%]
Here are the top ten drafted prospects as voted on by members.
1. Elias Pettersson - Vancouver Canucks
He's just a natural. Great smarts on both ends, awesome hand-eye and passing ability, controls the puck so well. No real electrifying weapons, just so very smart and so gifted, just natural instincts and knack for reading the game and creating chances.
I dunno if John Tavares is a reasonable style comparison, but someone like that who hasn't got elite skating or a rocket of a shot but...
Scouting evaluation; Skating speed, edge work, shooting, puck control, offensive IQ, competitiveness, physical play, defensive play. (Those evaluations are greatly impacting the statistical evaluation, both sources of data are tested again each other in different ways.)
I firmly believe that this software can be a useful tool to support the evaluation of prospects, in fact, I would even go as far as to say that it has the potential to give better results than the standard way of evaluating players.
During the summer, we've been running Organizational Prospect Ranking polls to see where HFBoards ranks each team's prospect pool.
Along with HFBoards, I've also included some other media sources often cited around this site, and have added some tables to show analysis on the rankings.

My top 31 picks for the 2018 NHL Draft with scouting reports for each player.
KHL regular season comes to an end and, with Nikita Popugaev already having crossed the pond earlier this month (signed only an AHL deal though), you can say it's about time to take a look at top drafted prospects and RFAs under the age of 27, whose KHL (and, in some cases, VHL) deals are expiring. Tried to make that in a form of a Top20 ranking with players ranked by a combination of the current ability/talent and probability of moving to the NHL. Unfortunately I wasn't able to include...

New York Rangers Top Prospects as voted by HF Members.
I realized posting new rankings nearly every month was pointless. I’ve pretty much seen all I’ve needed to see and this list took a while to complete. I may add scouting reports for the top 62 and/or a mock draft later on and I’ll bump the thread if I do. Any questions/thoughts/feedback feel free comment
A small extract of the weighted rankings for the 1st round (higher weight put on ISS and McKenzie).
I humbly post my list every January since three year ago of my favorite prospect in the world , not in the NHL . Because of my y lack of knowledge of the Goaltender , i excluded of the list . I don't think i have a crystal ball but i watch a lot of junior hockey and i love to make my personal list . Keep in mind that i'm very far to being a bilingual guy , i usually speak french so it's normal that my sentence is not always good , so sorry for that .
I appreciate question/comment . I...
Here are the top-100 NHL prospects today. Top-25 by position below
Criteria: Each player had to be under-25, selected in an NHL draft (or signed by NHL club) and played less than 1/2 season at NHL level.
Positions: Keep in mind that some of the positions change (ie, C to wing, RW to LW). I had to pick one for the positional lists, so don't kill me on that.
Methodology: I use a 0-100 scale to rate players. It is largely based on combination of factors, mostly on (a) highest peak...
