Yeah, what is worrying is not only the speed, which has been deteriorating for years(entirely normal), but his quickness, or "jump". After his back surgery a lot of that came back, allowing him to be effective forechecking and in front of the net. Now it seems to be gone again. He has never been a great passer, defender, or puck carrier, so he can't sit back and do those. Hopefully it's just a dry spell goal scoring wise. His ability to score has always been his greatest attribute.

If this guy plays out his contract, he will look like Heatley did at the end, and that wasn't pretty.

He’s already bordering Heatley levels of play. Whatever line he’s playing on is consistently getting caved in. It’s such a liability having him pull down whatever line he’s on 5v5. He is actually not an NHL level player anymore at 5v5 and we have him for 4 more years after this one.

Healthy was far slower and stiffer, and was a giveaway machine. Parise is not that now.

It seems like it takes him 6-8 strides and 3 seconds to close down the point when it gets kicked up the board, from just the top of the circle. Reminds me of Parrish.

He can still be a 4th liner, PP specialist, not unlike Bruno towards his end, but there is still a long time to go on his contract.

Pants.
I felt so bad for him that one shift where he got to the net in time but then the play went back to the other end. He was jumping and waving his stick but the rescue helicopters just passed on by.
