Michalek weighing in at 220lbs (Bertz aint that big, heh). Damn I wish you guys could've seen him at Sharks rookie and training camp. (And yes, there is a little homer in all of us.)

I love Michalek. He would be 11th. :)

I couldn't possibly comment on Michalek, seeing as I know little about him, but the little I do know tells me he seems to have potential as a excellent 2-way player at the NHL level, with some scoring upside.

Which is more than most prospects can say.

Hmmmm, is Bergeron still a prospect?
probably not.. just mentioned him cause hes younger or about the same age as many here....and some here like Zherdev and Horton played quite a few NHl games.. like Zherdev and Horton played over 50 games......kinda interesting tho that Bergeron was drafted same year as those two and was drafted way lower and hes established enough not to be considered a prospect and the other two are...makes you go Hmmmmmmmmmmm lol

i didn't include staal because he's played an entire NHL season. otherwise...he's top 4-5 easily.
yea I was debating that.. he was drafted along with most of these players, it just seems he gets forgotten around here.

1. Jeff Carter, PHI (Going out on a limb here but I think him and Forsberg will do some damage.)
2. Zach Parise, NJ (On a team I can't stand but watch him closely!)
3. Sidney Crosby, PIT (If everybody stays healthy he will be #1 or #2.)
4. Kari Lehtonen, ATL (Looking forward to watching him play! I like ATL to work some magic this year.)
5. Alexander Ovechkin, WSH (Doesn't have anybody around him.)
6. Thomas Vanek, BUF (Could he possibly be one of Buffalo's scoring leaders? Probably.)
7. Marcel Goc, SJ (Another solid center that can skate like a banshee.)
8. Kevin Bieksa, VAN (If he nabs a spot on the roster he's going to be a tough cookie to crumble in front of Cloutier.)
9. Alexander Perezhogin, MON (The biggest sleeper of the bunch.)
10. Evgeni Malkin, PIT (Won't be seeing the NHL for a little while but, obviously, one of the most serious prospects.)
11. Dion Phaneuf, CAL (I'm not as big on him as others here but he's undoubtedly top 3 defensive prospects.)

Woops... I didn't quite read the first post thoroughly so I put together my list of prospects to have an impact this year.

In terms of overall career I need a little more time to think.

I don't know how Zherdev, Horton or Bergeron (and Staal) can be considered prospects when none of them are even rookies anymore.

4. Evgeni Malkin
5. Thomas Vanek
6. Jeff Carter
7. Jack Johnson

I can't believe I am the only person who mentioned Mike Richards.
