1) Firewatch
2) I Am Setsuna
3) Overwatch
4) Hyper Light Drifter
5) Stardew Valley
6) Hitman
7) Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
8) XCOM: 2
9) Project X Zone 2
10) FFXV

Haven't played a lot of the recent bigger stuff. Inside, Mafia, Dishonored 2. I've really enjoyed FFXV but haven't played enough to really place it well. Definitely a lot of fun though.

I don't even know why I play #3 and 4 lol they just make me mad with how poorly made they are. Idk why I play any video games I get mad at all of them hahaha

Last Guardian, Inside, Firewatch, Titanfall 2, Superhot, Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Fire Emblem was kind of a bummer. Some good remasters like Valkyria Chronicles and Odin Sphere. Overall the best year in a while and the first really good year of this generation. There are finally games coming out again. The fact that Doom proves that there are still at least a handful of people out there who know how to make a first person shooter is reassuring enough.

DOOM really was good. I'm not a huge shooter fan so it didn't make my list. Definitely worth a pickup at $20 though.

3. Last Guardian (not done with it yet, might gain ground)

planning to play Inside as well before the year ends.

I agree with this. I keep seeing people talk about how weak this year was and I had a hard time keeping my list to 10 and not 15.

Hopefully next year can be just as solid.

This year has been absoultely terrible for my tastes. A list of every game that came out that I enjoyed:

1: Planet Coaster
2: Forza Horizon 3
3: Stellaris
4: ...

That being said, Stellaris and Planet Coaster had 100+ hours playtime each for me, so the few that were good were great, and Horizon was as good as any Forza game is, which is excellent.

I just don't have it in me to enjoy any of the big Action-Adventure, competetive online, or FPS games that take up 90% of the AAA game listings nowadays.

I cant agree with 2016, it has looked really lackluster to me. Couldnt even bother to get more than 5 games from the year, the rest has been catching up on my backlog. (2014 has looked the best to me so far this gen)

Next year however, looks very promising and the first year this generation where there are a ton of great stuff coming up. After this lackluster year it looks even better.

I really gotta try Inside. Heard such good things about it.

Inside, Mafia III, Dishonored II, Uncharted 4, and Last Guardian are all games that I'm disappointed I haven't been able to check out yet. Even kind of interested in Watch Dogs 2.

Inside is fun, intriguing, strangely beautiful, and creepy. It's a very cool experience.


...but be warned, it's only about 3 hours long or so, and the ending leaves you with a lot of questions.

Witcher 3 B&W may be the only one. I usually wait for sales .

Thats basically all I played in 2016. I bought No Mans Sky and goddamn is that a terrible game. Most regretful purchase in a long time.

Sure it can be. Aesthetically it's amazing, gameplay is solid, game modes, ect. Just a bit glitchy and too many updates.

The OP did ask for the greatest games of 16', just a top ten and one of mine has some issues but I still put considerable time in to it so it makes my list.
