Johansson is so weak I like he's skill but come on he needs to be screamed at by the coach.
Him and Zacha needs to be way more competitive along the boards and in the physical battle of pucks all over the ice.

I like Pavel and the way he's game is going and the goal is a reward for going to the harder areas of the ice. Like how he's begun to be more in the passing lanes when the opposition trying to breakout and how he is beginning to use he's stick more when coming back. But let's face it he needs work in the d zone but on the other side he's starting to find open ice in the o zone and pass the puck quicker and doing the easy pass and letting the play develope more naturally.

Agree on Mojo but PZ and Nico are still kids and thats why they both lose a lot of board battles.

Mojo is not up to speed yet with timing since he's missed so much time and he's adjusting to a new team.

His pass to Noesen early in the first to spring the breakway was high end vision and good to see.

I know people like to rag on him, but I think Cangy is coming into his own as an announcer. He has his **** ups, but I enjoy how he calls the game and that he's our guy.

You can tell he adores saying Pavel Zacha whenever he gets to say it, by the way.

Some like to get on announcers just for the sake of doing so and it happens all across sports, largely petty stuff they rag on announcers for too. For whatever reason, there is just that category of people - and you wonder if some are paying more attention to the announcing than the actual game .

Steve, like most other announcers, has been more than fine.

MoJo looked rusty, I mean you can see how good he can be but routine plays looked challenging. I don’t doubt he’ll pick it up, and honestly, we don’t need him to be a dominant player, just a good secondary scorer.

He’s going to be an important piece down the stretch. Just have to work him in and get more comfortable in the system.

One thing I was glad to hear from the announcers during the game last night was that Mojo stated he 100% expects more out of himself in the second half of the season. He knows he can do better and it starts with him being healthy. Hopefully he starts to get comfortable in the upcoming stretch.

I'm not a PZ fan by any stretch, but he's been playing really well the past 5 games. The goal was well deserved. I just wanna say how refreshing it is to have a good bottom 6 after years of past-prime Gionta, Bernier, Tootoo. Noesen, Gibbons, Coleman, Wood, Boyle, Zacha these guys have enough skill to play up and down the lineup.

not enough away fans filling the thread

SELL THE TEAM. :sarcasm:

what are the injuries tonight?

Shero stubs his toe on a table leg while getting a drink of water in the middle of the night? :dunno:

Good game by them today (minus the second period that was AWFUL). Especially liked Hischier's speed tonight, he was flying. Seemed faster than normal.

And on the main boards are there no moderators? In that EichelvsMatthews thread there are posters attacking me personally, posting pictures of nonsense, and just completely derailing the thread with clear trolling. Im not trying to derail this thread but I dont know where else to ask as a new(ish) poster. Are these forums actually watched by admins/mods??

Have you used the "report" button that's next to the name of the poster of that particular post?

Two very important home games after the break.
Keep it rolling at home then a big game at Wash on the 30th.

Definitely.

Devils need to win these next two(get 4 points) before facing the Caps who did a real number on them the last time they met.

I'm still pissed at him for basically kissing Patrick Kane's ass last night. :madfire:

Santini’s “fight” last night was evidently with a childhood friend and one of the groomsmen at his wedding. No wonder it was the worst fight ever.

It looked more like he and him decided to do a staged "fight" on the ice just for the hell of it or something.

I'm saving this pic for future games when opposing GARBAGE players try to injure our star players.

Bleed knows what I'm talking about.

Aside from the second period, they were dominant. That second period was terrible, and thankfully Schneider was up to the task and stopped the majority of the shots that came his way and all the ones he could see. No soft goals last night from him.

Zacha finally got that monkey of his back with that goal. He's had a lot of chances over the season so far, so it's great to see him finally get another with all the posts, missed chances on shanked shots and having a goal taken away.

Hopefully they keep coming for him. And he should be getting some PP as well.

The most important thing with this team is they're finding ways to win. It's something the Devils have been seriously lacking the last few years.

When one guy gets hurt, someone like Noesen or Boyle steps up. When Hall and Palmieri had a bad game (like against Anaheim), we had goals from Bratt, Wood 2x, and Noesen 2x. When the Devils have a horrendous period like last night's second, Schneider stepped up and closed the door.

It's been a real team effort up and down the line-up.

I don't mind him but his goal calls make me cringe sometimes. If he would turn Scaaaaar into Scoooooores using the same enthusiasm, I'd actually enjoy listening to him.

Also, I feel like he overuses the phrase "They Score". He scores would probably sound better but now I'm just nitpicking.

A lot of fans around the league seem to like our commentary. Steve and Dano are probably the most unbiased commentary team out there.

I think they are fair. Dano will admit when the devils get a call but only touches on it. If the devils had gotten that hall penalty shot against them I think he would have made a bigger deal of it.

My issue with Steve is that he trips over his words all the time. Constantly is switching the beginning letters of consecutive words. More so it annoys me when he has no clue what the call is when its obvious. It's clear hockey isn't his first sport. He could also do with less screeching.

In the end though Steve and dano are both very nice guys. It could be a lot worse. Sal also trips all over his words but his play breakdowns are awesome. He is so much better than Johnny mac was.

Yeah Steve is a nice guy but man is he so clueless sometimes. I mean I guess that is why he has those big thick glasses because he is super blind or something...

It looked like the guy he fought didn't know it was him until they were already engaged. Then it was like "well we've already dropped 'em so let's make it look like a fight".

I've always liked Cangy, he's not as natural as he could be, too much in character, but he is very polished. His delivery is pretty dang good.

He's not a long time hockey guy either, and that is where I think he is showing his improvement.

I'm surprised he can see as well as he does with those things. And this seems like much more of a thing this year right? I don't remember it being that bad in years prior.
