If you can't beat a team in 65 minutes of 5v5 hockey then you get one point or no points. The game is played 5v5. To play another version of it is foolish.

I think what you are trying to say is:

Win in Regulation=2 points
Win in OT = 2 points
Win in a shootout =2 points
Lose = 0 points

I'm fine with that as well.

It apparently worked, like the old ASG did, and we can't have that.

The NHL simply must cater to the lowest common denominator....like reality TV programming.

Unfortunately this is 100% it. The country's education dips and the entertainment must follow.
