Damn, this kid is a defensive WHIZ. He can't do much at all offensively since he really doesn't have a good shot at all, but boy oh boy is he going to cause star players all kinds of problems when he's out there on the PK.

He reminds me a bit of Rangers center Blair Betts. That's a huge compliment, also, because Betts is an awesome PKer and a great checking line player.

Nice to hear. Looking at his stats he seems to have had a disappointing year but if hes really that good defensively we can let it slide.

I never expected him to be a point producer at all in the NHL, so it's not really that suprising to me. I know some people thought he had good two-way upside, but I figured he'd be a PK specialist and it appears he is. I'm sure he'll be a solid asset for the Stars. I can't imagine him not being one, anyway...

Yeah didnt really expect him to score alot in the NHL but expected higher numbers in the AHL. It was said that he was very strong on the puck. The way you are describing him reminds me of Roman Lyashenko. That guy could play some serious D.

with all due respect to Roman-he was nicknamed bambi because he was weak on his skates-not a good compare at all IMO

Was is Hagos who had a strong preseason, netting a couple goals before he was sent down? Hopefully he gets another push at the next training camp.

I saw Iowa earlier in the year and he caught my eye.

He's has great hockey sense and is savvy both ways. He is very stable on his feet and is a gutsy forward in traffic. A good skater in tight as well. He seemed to move the puck too, so he's not all stones. Underated prospect.

He projects well as a third liner IMO.

Unfortunately, defensive specialists are not really needed on the team right now. Plenty of defensive ability to go around with their current set of forwards. That's a large part of the reason guys like Lyashenko and Malhotra get traded. They're simply more valuable on other teams.

So please Dallas, trade him. ;) I would love to see Hagos in the NHL.

He's the black Sami Pahlson..

The new Jörgen Jänsson for Sweden. Like Hagos a lot and think he will have a great future a head of him. But the Sami Pahlson comparison isnt to bad either since he is also the new Jörgen Jönsson so in a way your comparison is better :D
