How good is this guy, who does he remind you of and what do you think his future will be?
He is very good, very mature, solid laterally, is a quick learner. Right now I can see him challenging Huet for a roster spot as soon as next year. I can't see him overtaking theodore for the time being though.
Well in college, he was fantastic. He set all sorts of new goaltending records at Brown, as well as named to the All-ECAC and All- Ivy League First Teams, won the ECAC Player of the Year as well as the Ken Dryden Award for the conference's top goaltender and named one of the three finalists (aka "Hobey Hat Trick") for the Hobey Baker Award.
Solid as a rock, great attitude, works hard EVERY game and the consummate team player.
At the Habs development camp he was very solid in nets. Had quick moves and seemed to be very professional/mature although he was one of the oldest players at the camp. Very sound positionally, and imo was the strongest goalie of the four by a good margin.
Well said! Danis brings a lot to the table but his attitude and team ethic may be what can carry him to the next level.
Give him a year to adjust to the pro game and he could be special.
