Hello my name is Geno and I'll act like a tough guy when I'm already on the bench and no one can harm me.

Really like him as a player but always hated this part of his game.

Also I love Beagle as a dude since he seems like a really hard worker but was his absence noticed in any facet of the game? It actually may have helped because they didn’t send him out for every D zone faceoff.

Beagle is a great faceoff guy but he gets thrown out of the circle often and when it happens he isn't really helping us. Losing him didn't hurt as much as you might think.

I don’t fully trust grubs yet.. but he is growing on me. I feel like he just isn’t in control as much as good goalies are. I think if the caps are gonna go deep they will need to lean on both grubs and holtby. Here is to hoping

Well, not at all surprising, considering the number of informed Caps fans who pretty much shared this opinion until very recently.

What Wilson has been able to do with his game is very impressive, especially considering that the Caps essentially set the table for him to become a bottom-6 semi-goon. I still don't understand how his skating, for one thing, went up a few levels basically over a summer.

BTW I have a question. Why was it so important to have Gersich in the lineup tonight? The lineup was fine. Now that we have clinched the division Trotz can get him in the lineup. Trotz made the correct decision and most coaches would have done the same thing.

I feel like I've been arguing with a wall.

We need to see more of what Gersich is so we know what he is.

    Is Gersich too green? Maybe.

    Is Gersich ready? Maybe.

Should Gersich be in the line up? Maybe.

Should he never see the ice in the post season? Maybe.

I, much like many fans, would like to change some of these maybes.

Getting Gersich in the lineup tells us what we have and what we can look forward to or disregard. If/when someone goes down in the playoffs it would be extreme useful to know what we have and if we should use him or if we should use Boyd, Chiasson, etc. This "he might not be ready" talk is LITERALLY the reason why he needs to play. We remove the "probably" and "maybes" and we have a better idea of what we've got.

If he was going to get any TOI in the playoffs you'd like to have him get minutes against a potential match up.

In this game Vrana played well, filled that role. DSP was positionally sound too. He played well enough although a better player could have created better chances.

No, he's become Steckel 2.0. They're better off on the ice without him

Congrats Barry on winning the division..this arm chair qb is always firing off my opinion but I did not think this team really had a chance of winning the divisision. That being said watching our Vets tonight they are already grabbing their sticks tightly..

And you aren't listening. Trotz made the correct decision and now I'm sure we will get to see Gersich. I don't understand why people were so upset about a player with no experience not being dressed for such an important game.

Right here. What’s there to discuss? He didn’t play the game.

I’ve got Better Call Maaco on ignore.

If he’s anti-Gersich, then I’m very comfortable being pro-Gersich.

Why would you want him playing against a potential matchup. You don't actually think he will play in the playoffs?

Other than Ovechkin's rocket (for me) they can sit anyone now. I'd start with Niskanen, Orpik or Backstrom.

An injury to Beagle could be a blessing in disguise. He's like a comforting blanket to Trotz, a near zero offense guy who wins faceoffs and tries real hard in the D zone. If Beags is out Barry has to get out of his comfort zone, which is fine with me because his comfort zone is safe, turtling hockey that loses in the playoffs.

    Still wish they'd hired Lavi.
