Just win the damn game.
If we don't win the game, we'll not clinch the 1st in metro.
I hope Ovi doesn't score tonight.
I hope Nicky doesn't help his teammates to score.
oshie is in, so is grubauer
DSP doesn't belong on a scoring line. 20 games without a point but gotta play That Grind.
we will still have the metro lead and a game in hand no matter what happens tonight. pens will be down to 2 games, caps will have 3
Good news about Oshie and Grubi. Lets go Caps, you know.
Come on Barry, I am rooting for you, but this is just dumb against a speedy team.
"We're being really careful with injuries... Oshie in Gerisch out."
This sounds about right.
doesnt sound like kessel or brassard are playing tonight, but we have to wait for the official announcement
Would be a shame. Part of me wants to play them at their full strength to see how we stack up against them entering the playoffs.
Why is it dumb?
Trotz could ice the local District 5 Pee Wee team and you'd chock it up as a stroke of genius and put any defeat on the players.
I just don't get Gersich being out.
He could of been our Donato.
Caps don't have any easy games left. With that out of the way, if Pitt wins out they finish w/102 pts. If Caps can pick up 4 pts in these next 4 GP they'll win the Metro outright.
W.r.t. the game today and the 4 standings pt outcomes:
2-0 Caps, looks like they clinch #1; 2-1 Caps, they're almost home free;
2-1 Pitt, Caps still heavy favs to win Metro; 2-0 Pitt, now it starts getting dicey. Pitt will have +1 ROW, 1 pt back, Caps 1 GIH. Not going to run through all the scenarios of Caps & Pitts last few games but I think Caps will still have > 50% chance at winning Metro
That doesn't answer why his decision to sit those players was dumb. Sitting Gerisch and Djoos isn't dumb.
if caps win in regulation today they clinch the division. they would be 5 points up with pens having 2 games left
He has played one fricken game. This is a very important game for the Caps. Putting in a player with one game experience is pretty risky. Its the safer decision.
I'm sure if we win this game, Gerisch will get into a couple more games.
My first sentence was not to "inform" others about our possibilities, but it was written more in a "reverse wishful" way, like two others.
Yeah I'm a bit complicated
It doesn't even matter what he is, he will 100% be a spark, and that is enough to play him over Burka or DSP or Connelly. And a speedy spark at that.
Pens will be playing Aston-Reese and his 12 games, they played Geuntzal last season against the Caps when he had five games of experience. You have to have these kids playing if you want to win in today's NHL. Look at every good team in the NHL, every one (including the regular season Caps).
It's a ***** decision.
I predict we will only see Gersie in the playoffs when facing elimination.
