This is the one that'll put us over the top again. No but does anyone have a profile on this player?
Gabriel Carlsson’s

SCOUTING REPORT:
The 2015 first-round pick (No. 29 CBJ) continues to struggle to earn a regular job in the NHL as he heads into what should be the prime of his career. Has tremendous size and a big point shot, but he has never been a great skater and has yet to show the skills and physical play he will need to prove capable of being an impact NHL defenseman.

Long Range Potential: Big, raw defenseman.

Hot competition between Irwin, Gustafsson, and Carlsson for that 6LD spot, eh?

What’s going on with Alexeyev? Is he still considered a good prospect?

Carlsson will be battling Gustafsson, Irwin and Lucas Johansen for the 6-7 spot on the Caps defense during preseason.

Alexander Alexeyev had undergone labral repair surgery on his left shoulder in the middle of June and was expected to be out for 4-5 months meaning Alexeyev will probably start the year on season opening IR and probably won’t return till late October or November.

That doesn't quite fit the Gabe Carlsson I've watched over the years. He's 6'5 but hunched over and plays small. He never filled out and I'd actually say he was a very good skater as a prospect before back injuries did him in. What you are getting is a physically limited but highly cerebral player. He makes good outlets and has shown some nice playmaking ability if opportunity arises. Smart positionally and a long stick. He's just slow and not physically strong, that's all you have to worry about. Don't put him in a lot of foot races.

Good synopsis. He's a 6-8 guy. Not bad but won't play up in your lineup.
