Winnipeg may actually win the cup. That blend of size and skill is scary. The Jets not only have top end skill, but they're also deep up and down the lineup on both sides of the puck.

Can't complain about the effort.

Yeah I really like their roster. They're the one Canadian team I wouldn't mind seeing win the cup. Though I'd prefer I still not see a Canadian team win a cup in my lifetime

Think if we had last year's Faulk and Skinner.

If Faulk and Skinner continue to score goals at their current rates, they will be responsible for a decline of ~21 total goals relative to last year. That will basically negate the gains made by Aho, Lindholm and Teravainen, if they continue to score goals at their current rates (~22 goals.)

Skinner is dying on the third line, and Peters is to blame for that, but who can you put him with if they aren't going to make a call up? I see the lines to start had him with Wallmark. I honestly don't know what came of that as I wasn't tuned in but periodically. Rask, and Ryan are garbage. Rask and Skinner would be worse than Ryan and Skinner somehow. Wasn't Rask and PDG's line benched for a bit in the 3rd? It's a predicament. Stemp has moments, but he's a shell of his former self right now, and Williams strikes me as one that could feed Skinner pucks or get him rebounds, but that hasn't really worked either. I know Skinner's "thing" is he makes his own chances but that only works up to a point.

Not sure what's wrong with Faulk. Too much Moe's queso.

What is it with goalies where the just "freeze" when they hear the puck hit off the pipe? So many of them do that melodramatic crap when it goes in the goal off the pipes acting like, "Wow, I can't see how it possibly could have gone by me!" I thought Ward played a mostly ok game last night, but that freezing bull shit was directly responsible for the third goal against. He just sat there, in the butterfly with his arms in the air for a good two seconds acting like a martyr before realizing that they had not actually scored, but due to waiting so long, he left the net wide open for the eventual winning goal.

To be fair, part of the reason his body didn’t move is because he was trying to find the puck — you can see his head swivel left, then right. Until he finds the puck, it doesn’t make sense for him to start moving around.

Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. If Ward starts swinging his arms around and sliding around the crease he could easily knock a lose puck in. Would only take one of those before fans start saying “Why can’t you just sit still and locate the puck?!?”

Canes defense seem to hold onto the puck too long in transition and I'm guessing it's coached as every one of them does it. By the time the Canes move through the neutral zone, it's all clogged up, forwards have no momentum and it turns into a dump and chase or the defenseman skating it in the zone himself. Then results in throwing it to the point for a weak shot on goal, hoping there is traffic. It only started to open up more when they were already down by 2. There was effort last night, but little execution. It seems the Canes throw more passes into guys skates than any other team I've seen which pretty much puts a stop to any flow as well.

Jets (Buff and #7 in particular) were definitely going after Aho last night and I don't blame them. #7 was trying to hit everyone and more often than not missed guys, but connected on his fair share as well. I think it was him that hit his own guy once. In the 3rd though, he came at Aho along the boards and Aho did his "plant your feet and drive a shoulder into the guy" which clearly took #7 by surprise that he was stood up by a 175lb kid.

And while I'm glad Williams is on the team, he makes a ton of boneheaded plays with regularity.

I didn't like Chip comparing Skinner to Laine in the post game considering Laine has Ehlers and Wheeler and Skinner has the doctor.

Yeah but at least he's the doctor.

You should read what the Leafs fans had to say about Hyman.

(can't put a pic because you know)
