This article is bang on. The NHLPA looks like it is really splintered and the communication for the players has clearly been lacking. It is the repsonibility of the Executive team and Goodenow to communicate with others and they have done a terrible job. Also the Executive team should not be in Europe AKA Alfredson...

Now, in a move straight from the George Costanza school of negotiating, his players are currently holding out for LESS money than they would have made if they took a $42.5-million cap in September, while inextricably linked to a diminishing asset.

"I'm comfortable in our decision, I'm comfortable in what we've offered," said Dallas Stars forward Bill Guerin, a member of the union's executive committee. "Every step of the way we've bent and we've bent and we've bent to try and get a deal done. And every time we've taken a step forward, we've had the door slammed in our face.

    "We're done. We're done giving."

This is great. Someone should keep this and send it to him when the NHLPA finally accepts a Salary cap at around 32MIL that is tied to revenues and e-mail it to him. When are these guys gonna learn (on both sides) to stop drawing lines in the sand. There has gotten to be so many that they don't know which side to stand on anymore.
