    ...the IIHF were to rechedule to World Hockey Championship during the summer or mid season so it wouldn't interfere with the NHL Playoffs? So all the NHL stars could compete?

    Most likely. It would never be best-on-best because NHL stars want as much off-time as they want after the playoffs, so I don't see them participating every year. But when a best-on-best only happens every 4 years or so, they're more likely to join in.

    Agreed, it loses it's splendor if it's a yearly event. Who would care about the Olympics if if happened year after year, every year!? It'd be only slightly more important then the Juniors IMO
