Interesting players from a prospect watching perspective:

Jack McBain (Canada-East, 2018)
Nick Campoli (Can-E, 2017, VGK)
Anthony Romano (Can-E, 2019)

Brendan Budy (Canada-West, 2018)
Dylan Holloway (Can-W, 2020!)
Jonny Tychonick (Can-W, 2018)
Jacob Bernard-Docker (Can-W, 2018)
Harrison Blaisdell (Can-W, 2019)

Jack Drury (USA, 2018)
Jack Dugan (USA, 2017 OA, VGK)
Blake McLaughlin (USA, 2018)
Curtis Hall (USA, 2018)

David Aebischer (SUI, 2019)
Keijo Weibel (SUI, 2019)
Kyen Sopa (SUI, 2019)
Akira Schmid (goalie, SUI, 2019)

pretty much the whole Russian team

Jachym Kondelik (CZE, 2018)
Milan Kloucek (goalie, CZE, 2017)

should be a good tournament for advance scouting some 2019 guys. Should be at least 2 future NHLers among the guys listed I bet

"Not a good start" is putting it lightly. TCE 7-0 loss and a 5-1 loss. It really makes one wonder about the selection process. From my viewings of Tier 2 hockey half of the roster is suspect and the results don't lie. Hopefully they can turn this around.

Our team looks very good on this tournament, 2-1 against USA after 2nd period, another SH goal, keep it up guys. Thanks Connor for the stream link.

4-2 final score for the Czech team, last period was tough, Czechs looked tired, USA had many scoring opportunities, we survived mainly thanks to Brízgala and good def play. Well done guys.

Interesting players from a prospect watching perspective:

David Aebischer (SUI, 2019)
Keijo Weibel (SUI, 2019)
Kyen Sopa (SUI, 2019)
Akira Schmid (goalie, SUI, 2019)

I'd probably add Jeremi Gerber (2018) to that list.

From the few viewings I had of the swiss 00ers so far in international competition, he looked most promising after Valentin Nussbaumer and arguably Gilian Kohler (who are both in the extended roster for the U20 WC). And unlike most of his teammates, he has solid size to go with the talent.

Im curious to see what Sopa has to offer at this stage, as he hasn't had the international exposure yet as most of his teammates. He's definitely caught the attention after his convincing run in the swiss U20 league.

Hope Akira Schmid can copy his performance from the Ivan Hlinka tournament, where he showed a lot of promise.

Vouillamoz had a good Hlinka too. A good shot and fight along the boards. but his stats in Switzerland this year are worse than expected.

Kloucek and Brizgala are both very good so far. It's first time we win group in this tournament. It will be good to continue and win a medal, which we didn't accomplish yet too.

Kondelik looked pretty good. Solid skill package to go with his tremendous size. He has legit chance to make the WJC team.

Finally getting around to watching the Can-Rus game

Denisenko is a talent. Nasty hands, good skater, plus passer

Wish the Flames still had a first for him

Sorry if asked already, but is David Aebischer (2000.) in any relation to ex-AVS goalie David Aebischer ?

How do Zavgorodny and Kotkov look?

Kotkov was noticeably pretty good, though I didn't notice Zavgorodny much. I'm only half-watching and the Russians also don't have names on their jerseys so it's hard to keep track of them. Can't miss #14 though.

Rarely seen move in hockey.

Swiss pull goalie with 2-2 tie late in the 3rd.

OT win would still eliminate them.

So QF games will be USA vs Switzerland and Canada East vs Canada West. USA beat Canada West 2-1.

SF Czechs vs Canada West and Russia vs USA. Switzerland didn't have much luck in this tournament, all tight games, but everything lost in the end.

Anyone else think this event is held at a bad time, I mean there are WJC players here.
