Canada's getting way too cute and lazy on this pp. They need to get it in deep and forecheck. This kind of hockey is symptomatic of a team that is coasting. Hartsburg should start benching to send a message.

2-0 Canada after one period of play. This period the player I noticed the most was Kris Russell mainly because of his 2 goals but it also seemed as if he was on the ice most of the time. The player I noticed the least was Parent which isn't really a bad thing considering I only noticed Bourdon on his give-away on the power play. Like switchblade said, him and Letang aren't looking very good so far today.

Scoring Summary after 1 period of play:

1. K. Russell from K. Alzner and S. Downie
2. K. Russell from L. Bourdon

Bourdon was absolutely terrible in the first period, he was easily Canada's worst player. He had one terrible pinche, an awful play on the powerplay that forced Letang to take a penalty, a two on one play where he dropped down way too early and got bailed out by a bounce and a suicide pass up the middle to Cogliano where Cogliano fortunately got the better of the collision. Bourdon flat out needs to be better for Canada.

Cogliano really needs to develop some finish, the guy gets chance after chance thanks to his blazing speed but at some point he needs to start converting.

These Gatorade commercials are fastley getting on my nerves. . .so much so that I had to make up a word.

They wouldn't be so bad if they weren't the same damn ones every single game!

Haha I just realized now that my eye's aren't heavy anymore from staying up all night. Another powerplay for Canada!! I actually kind of wish Canada had another game this early because I enjoy the early games.

Canada has one major problem that, over four games, has become glaringly evident: no finish. It's like watching a team of Jan Bulis' being coached by a team of Oleg Petrovs.

Canada's 1-8 on the PP and is on their 9th right now. They need to be better.

With all of are powerplays it doesn't look like Staal and Parent are getting very much ice time which is kind of disappointing because I would like to see more of them, mainly Staal.

I see where you're comming from, but the fact is Canada's PP has been pretty poor this game. It makes sense for them to put out their top PP units until they sort it out before putting their defensive specialists out there. Don't worry, Downie, Bertram, and Helm will take a penalty at some point, and they'll be out for the PK.

How the hell did the ref miss the to many men on the ice? That was the exact same situation where Macardle touched the puck and there was penalty!

wowwers. . .Helm just got layed out by Bena.

Maybe the ref is trying to even out the penalties all at once? Canada was at 9 PP when Slovakia was at 3
