I wonder how much more of the pro game Morrissey has to learn considering he has close to half a year worth of games in AHL. Either way I don't anticipate him being on the Moose for long if he is indeed sent there out of camp.

I tend to agree with you - I think he's good enough to push the NHL regulars for a spot, but given TNSE's mantra of "draft and develop", and the number of times they've said that the way to the NHL team is via the AHL, I'm wondering if they're going to slot Petan and Morrissey in on the Moose.

I hope to heck they bust the door down, and force the Jets' hands. Morrissey always seems to take a little bit of ramp up time when he's put in a new situation - he'll need to figure out a way around that for this TC in order to make a mark, methinks.

I dunno: I think both of them have the talent, and I think both of them could play with the Jets - I just get this sneaking suspicion that they'll both be with the Moose to start the season.

Well Given the contract situation Morrissey will need to bust down the doors to make it. He has mentioned that he will have to force the issue to make the team so hopefully he hits the ground running at camp.

Petan is in tough just due to the fact Ehlers will get priority I think. It may not hurt him to go to the AHL to learn how to play wing,

surixon: yeah, I agree that Ehlers probably has priority, as Petan can play in the A, while Ehlers only other recourse is to go back to the Q for another year of ... what? More abuse? I don't think he's going to learn much there, so I do believe that he'll be sheltered (a-al Drouin, maybe?) and allowed to work himself into the line-up.

I think Petan gets games with the Jets, but only as a call-up later on in the season. Would be nice to see him take on a large role with the Moose, to showcase some of his talent, and for him to learn the ropes against bigger/stronger players/pros.

Not sure what you consider a prospect. Copp is but Dano isn't? Why is Chiarot listed as a prospect?

I think...

Connor is too low (should be #2 or #3).

Lemieux is too low (should be above Kostalek, Harkins, and maybe Roslovic.

That's his last offseason rankings, he put where he would have them at the end of this season on the end. I think.

Nice job.
Ehlers 1 all the way. Battle between Connor & Helly for #2 indeed & still giving Petan #4 as well (although new guy Dano & Armia are challenging there).

Not convinced at Roslovik for 6 (Comrie, Copp & Lemieux are better at this point IMO). Chiarot at 9 -- who knows, may slip below the above group. Lipon & DeLeo moved up closer to this group - I agree.

The rest are merely ?? at this point.

Using HF criteria Ehlers, Copp, Chiarot and Telegin are not prospects anymore. The first 3 have played too many NHL games and Telegin has completed his 24 YO season.

I think you are missing the point of the exercise. When this list was made last July they were all still considered prospects within HF boards rules. He was just re-rating them (20prospects)10 months later based on what they did this year.

OK, call it re-rating. I call it still arguing with the result 10 mos. later. He's dropped Connor from 2nd to 5th because why? Oh yah, Connor had a pretty crappy season.

1 st you miss understood the purpose of his post on re- rating the prospects 10 months later. Then you read the graph incorrectly. He did not drop Conner from 2-5 but raised him from 5-2 based on his good play.
