I can dig that.

So far this off season I have predicted.

#1) Chevy would be active because "it is time now".

#2) We will have > 100 point season and be in the top 3 in our division.

#3) Connor will have a big rookie season

I can get on board with those predictions.

Works for me. I think they should be expectations rather than predicitions. We have made some moves, we will inject some more youth. It's time for us to take the next step.

The coach scares me off #2 and #3.

#2 would be a career best for Mo.
#3 would help with #2, but I gotta think he'll spend some time on the 4th line because Mo.

For all the complaining about Maurice being a vet lover...there sure are some younger players that have done very well under Maurice.

The coach scares the hell out of me too but........

#2a I think this is PMo most talented team by a fair margin
#2b Good goaltending (fingers crossed) will make him look smarter, slimmer, and better looking....it cures all (exhitbt A goofball Torts)
#3 Without Thor and with Connor that 4th line might actually look good . Seriously though I think Connor is past the 4th line duty now he is just way too good. I think worst case scenario he gets welded to Lowry Armia but that might work too?

Ya, most of the dead weight is gone. What's worse case scenario? A Matthias-copp-Tanev 4th line? Even that would be better than any line with thorburn in it.

Because of, or in spite of? You could say the same thing about some young players doing very well under Noel. Kane, Bogosian, Burmistrov - heck, Bryan Little was 23 years old when the Jets played their first game in 2011-12...younger than Scheifele is now.

You can never lose an argument with this reasoning. Anything negative is 100% Maurice/Chevy/TNSE's fault and anything positive is in spite of them. It's flawless.

Burmistrov was ruined by being rushed, and then made exponentially worse in the KHL.

Well, you certainly can't prove the causal relationship between Maurice and, say, Scheifele's development. Terrible coaches get good performances out of young players too. I think individual skill is mostly up to the individual. Maurice's job is to bring those individuals together to make an effective team - and he's mostly been ******** the bed in that department.

Sure, and you can't prove that Maurice has had no positive impact on Scheifele either. It's a lazy argument that gets thrown out far too frequently around here to dismiss anything positive.

For the record, I'm not sold on Maurice going forward, and chose 15-30 in the "How many games do you give this coaching staff" poll.

Man, I didn't think "making" was censored. :D ;)

Loosen the reins a bit, HF!

And speaking of the young-ness of the Jets:

Season | Avg. Age | Rank
2011-12| 26.627|7th
2012-13| 26.365|3rd
2013-14| 26.065|2nd
2014-15| 26.843|7th
2015-16| 26.372|4th
2016-17| 25.745|2nd
2017-18| 25.915|3rd

Unless we sign Jagr this year, this will be the 2nd youngest lineup since the team moved here.

Well at least he got an invite this season which is a step up from last year. Who is coaching the team this year? I can't see Stanley making it but coaches are weird and they might want him for a role.

Ducharme again. He liked the guys from out east last year.

Hockey Canada has been itching to get Foote on that team for awhile.

I see Foote, Bean, Fabbro and Makar as locks. The rest is very much up in the air.
