playoffs shouldnt really be the goal this year should it? we have no picks between rounds 2 and 5 for the next few years. not picking high and keeping guys like luchuk only helps this year, it doesnt help us long term. id rather get a 2 and 3 for luchuk and miss the playoffs than keep him and dont get picks, especially if you are not moving dipietro this year. brown will get alot, but hes the only one other than luchuk worth picks. the worst thing we did was try to keep winning and rebuilding at the same time, its what lead to the graham/cortellessa/czinder/mccann yearrs. lets do it right, not go half way, the team only got good after bottoming out and drafting vilardi. the leafs tried to do both and failed forever, they only got good when they bottomed out, windsor tried to rebuild on the fly last time and failed. it works best when you tear it down.

I don't think there is any question Windsor will strip away some tradable assets to aquire picks & younger players. But depending on how the young kids adapt to the league & bigger leadership rolls will determine how agressive they can be doing this.
If they feel the group has strong internal leaders & kids who can handle the minutes they may trade every veteran they have.
But if the young group struggles & has a fragile mindset. They'll keep some veterans around so the kids don't get curbed stomped every night out from an unforgiving league and lose all confidence going forward.
Several factors play into this balance.
