Andrew Shaw
2nd round pick 2019

for

Anthony Beauvillier

Reasoning:
You can never have too many centers. I believe Beauvillier will challenge Drouin for 1c.

Isn’t Beauvillier an actual center?

At this point I am not sure if he will playin the NHL at center or LW. Personally I would try move him to center because I think he could turnout to be a very solid two way guy.

On the flip side he did click very well with Barzal getting 20 goals, the bulk of them in the 2nd half of the season when put on Barzal's line

Danault is a Center and Anthony B. is not presently.
Yet Montreal can never have enough Centers?
Also Beauvillier is the best player in this trade.
What is the point of downgrading that position if Anthony does become a future regular Center which I believe is certainly possible. I do prefer and value his chemistry with Barzal more.
I don't see why NY needs Shaw or how this trade makes sense for the Islanders?
Take out Beauvillier and Shaw and Rose and I make the trade for the hell of it.

There is not one Hab in your proposal worth giving up Beau, a 21 yr old natural center coming of a 21 goal sophmore season.

please don't touch the Beauvillier. he is not for sale....

of course, everyone is, but i really like this kid. he's got 'it' IMO, and in a few years, when he get's past the size and experience issues, he will be the real deal.

i think he is a better center. stick him with a few wingers with size, and he flourishes. his creativity, coupled with his quickness, are fun to watch. hard worker. isn't afraid of the dirty areas. can pass and shoot. 200 foot game. what's not to like?

hell, i might even take him in my hockey pool... :thumbu:

Divided last season between 2nd and 3rd line wing.
Plays a very solid 2 way game. I would like to see him developing at center.

His most common linemates last season were apparently Barzal and Eberle. Gotta think Weight was trolling Chia big time there lol.

That's actually a lose-lose.

I'm not ready to trade our best actual C for another maybe, even if Beau is the best player in the deal.

Beauvillier has never had success as a center in the NHL, which I just now realized is exactly why Montreal would covet him...

it was a very short period, i think it was 5 games, at the end of the season (2017), and Beau centered Lee and Bailey, and did great. ppg, i think?

i think his size holds him back when he plays wing. at 170 lbs, i don't think he won many board battles. he tried like hell, and has a tricky stick, but he just wasn't big and strong enough.

if JT stays, and he and Barzal occupy 1 & 2C, i can see Beau staying on Barzal's wing. but if JT leaves, Beau could slide into the 2C spot.

Even Bergs wouldn't do that. I think?
