What gets me, is that if he did this with other players when they played poorly (ie Hyman hasn’t looked great for several games this year) it would be fine, but he doesn’t.

I just don’t understand.
It's because Nylander and Marner have the highest ceiling, you need to motivate them the most.

He wasn't scoring with Matthews or Kadri either.

yeah he was in a slump, but when he started scoring again that was the time for a permanent switch. Nylander turned every line he was on into a threat against calgary he hit a post, he set up marleau to hit a post as well as numerous other blocked shots and missed passes. A players scoring isnt 100% tied to himself, he was one of the best leafs in that game and still didnt get the benefit of regular linemates

No. When things are not going well, you need to actually try. That's what matters. Not looking like you try. Trying.

Watch the videos. The Doctors explain what I am talking about quite well but even if you are low on confidence if you will yourself into positive posture and put off positive body language, you will play better hockey. It's not really debatable, the studies are all pretty conclusive.

Body language is part of trying, your body is a system. Why are you even arguing this? Just research it yourself. Nylander in my opinion is putting out a lot of negative body language but you don't believe it. We have a difference of opinion perhaps. Perhaps Babcock can see what I can see and perhaps you aren't able to see it.

Or u have to find out how your going to resign willie hes playing himself into a bridge deal but some so caled experts expect a trade , citing the lesfs wont sign all 3 youngsters to lucrative deals especially since they need a stud defenceman

Said this way back but Bridge deals for Marner and Nylander are probably not a bad thing.

Name the last bluechip young guy who got a bridge deal.... pretty hard to do.

The closest thing you see these days are guys getting 6 year deals instead of 8.

2 games in a row now where Nylander was first forward back and failed to pick up his man. Last night his man scored (Sheahan), Calgary game the goal was disallowed (Hamilton).

These are simple fixes, Willie just has to raise his awareness when he doesn't have the puck.

Why would Nylander even want to re-sign with the Leafs under Babcock. Thats the risk right now. Babs treatment of Nylander has been shameful.

That was years ago, and Kadri didn’t put up a 60 point rookie season. I don’t think that’s a good comparison.
Kadri was also a perceived problem child at the time, his outside the rink behaviour was well known. Neither of the kids gets a bridge deal, they will sign long term.

Poor guy. It looks like no one will take him next year in a fantasy hockey pool.

So you're on board with taking our trio of 60pt rookies, putting them in situations and line combinations where they can't succeed, and collectively stamping out their production and confidence?

We took three immensely talented young players and misused them to the point they are now all slumping. Forget fantasy teams, what does this do for the REAL team?

6th place in the league. Hopefully playoff success. Would you rather a President's Trophy and a 60 point season for Willy?

Galchenyuk would be a very close comparable in production and situation.

Well, Elhers, and Pasta are likely the best comparisons considering how recently they’ve signed their contracts and production.

Galchenyuk didn’t hit 50+ points until his third season in the league.

Interesting. That said, Nylanders icetime wa also pretty limited this game (didn’t got less than than 5 min icetime per period)

Edit: grammar

He is a centre and showed it today. The little wrinkles in his game will improve with experience.
Glad Babcock sees him as a C. lets hope he transfers over soon.
