I wonder if that’s due to Pilut’s recent return from rehab. Might still need a bit more conditioning.
Also, after getting rag dolled by Anaheim, and seeing how they’re pretty soft in general, maybe some Borgen smash is more what they’re looking for at this time. Just speculation, though.

I like it. Borgen will most likely be one of the more physical D on the team tonight and we definitely need that.

Not all that interesting. Pilut is still conditioning in the Roc. Probably going to be a couple of weeks until he's ready.
Pilut will be the guy to ultimately replace Scandella, he just needs more game action after rehabbing for months.

I'm sure Ralph has noticed that his team wilts after getting smacked in the mouth.
Paul Hamilton expects Gilmour will be in the lineup, as per @joshjull 's post in the PGT thread.
Not surprising. Given who they are trying to manage their cap, having a daily savings is important.

The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman William Borgen from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Highlights:
- Totaled 14 points (3G, 11A) in 71 AHL games with the Rochester Americans during his first full professional season in 2018-19.
- Made his NHL debut with Buffalo on March 26, 2019 at Ottawa and appeared in four NHL games in 2018-19, averaging 16:33 of ice time per game.
- Was previously recalled by the Sabres on Friday, Oct. 25 to join the team in Detroit.

Interesting to see them make sure he's available for the Amerk-Crunch game, then bring him back up. It also saves the daily payroll.

I thought they might leave Borgen with Rochester another day so he could play vs Springfield today. Probably didn't want him to be worn out in case he has to play.

Teams using LTIR space can't bank cap space, so I don't think the latter point is relevant. It's probably just a matter of wanting to have an extra body around on game days, but still letting him play in the AHL since they aren't planning on actually playing him with Buffalo right now.
